LONDON (Alliance News) - Advertising giant WPP PLC Thursday said its data management unit Kantar has made a further investment in Enprecis Inc, a company which uses a proprietary online platform to collect and analyse data about consumer experience for the automotive industry.
WPP didn't provide any financial details about the transaction, but said Enprecis would now be aligned with the automotive practice of TNS, the market research company that is part of Kantar.
WPP had made an initial investment of USD1.2 million for a minority stake in Enprecis in February.
Founded in 2006 and based in Seattle, Enprecis had gross assets in 2012 of USD1.6 million. Its clients are most of the world's major automotive manufacturers, WPP said.
"This latest investment further strengthens TNS's offer for the automotive industry and follows the acquisition of leading Chinese company, Sinotrust Market Research, earlier this year," the advertising company said in a statement.
WPP Shares were down 0.3% at 1,280 pence Thursday morning.
