Mon, 19th Sep 2016 07:19

LONDON (Alliance News) - Latin American oil and gas firm Andes Energia PLC on Monday revealed it has appointed the Chairman of telecoms giant BT Group PLC, Michael Rake, as a non-executive director of the company.

Rake is also the chairman of London-listed Worldpay Group PLC and is also a director of S&P Global and chairman of Majid Al Futtaim Holdings LLC.

He was president of the Confederation for British Industry, otherwise known as the CBI, from 2013 to 2015 and was also a member of the UK prime minister's business advisory group from 2010 to 2015.

"We are extremely pleased to be able to announce the appointment of Sir Michael to the board. We look forward to being able to benefit from his tremendous experience and expertise as we advance in the next stage of our growth and development. It is a honour to welcome Sir Michael to the board," said Andes Chairman Nicolas Mall Huergo.

"I am delighted to be joining the board of Andes at this time when there is real optimism for the Argentine economy and for the role that Andes can play," said Rake on his appointment.

Andes shares were untraded Monday morning. They last closed at 15.31 pence.
