Vianet on track to meet 2020 market expectations

Thu, 15th Aug 2019 11:20

(Sharecast News) - Internet of things data and business insight provider Vianet Group updated the market on its trading on Thursday, reporting that performance in the first four months of the 2020 financial year had been as anticipated, with the group being on course to meet market expectations.
The AIM-traded firm said its 'Smart Machines' division had successfully concluded negotiations on three long-term contracts with leading vending operators during the period.

It said the combined contracts for 20,000 units would generate in the region of £10m of revenue over the three-to-five year contract terms, which the board said further underpinned the growth of Smart Machines.

Craig Brocklehurst, currently the company's commercial operations director, had been appointed to head up the group's Smart Zones division, the board also announced.

That move followed the upcoming departure of Steve Alton, who was recently appointed chief executive of pub industry body, the British Institute of Innkeeping.

"We are pleased with the contract wins, which are evidence of the group's positive start to the year," said Vianet chairman James Dickson.

"The group also congratulates Craig on his appointment to head up Smart Zones, replacing Steve Alton who was recently appointed chief executive of pub industry body, the British Institute of Innkeeping.

"We have no doubt that Steve's draught beer quality expertise and insight make him ideally suited for his new role and he leaves with our best wishes."
