LONDON, May 5 (Reuters) - British publisher Trinity Mirror said on Thursday it would shut the New Day newspaper itlaunched just nine weeks ago after an attempt to introduce a newtitle to the fiercely competitive market failed.
Trinity, which also publishes the Daily Mirror and Peopletabloids, said it had decided to shut the New Day after thecirculation figures fell below its expectations.
The company added that despite the closure of the paper, itcontinued to expect performance for the year to be in line withmarket expectations.
