The FTSE small cap index and junior-listed AIM shares fall0.1 percent, lagging the mid-caps, up 0.5 percent, and the blue chips, up 0.7 percent.
Finnish miner Talvivaara rallies 25.7 percent, the top FTSE SmallCap riser, after its top creditor, Nyrstar, said it was reinstatingsupport for the miner's reorganisation process.
Talvivaara is attempting to fend off bankruptcy, and is still down 77percent this year.
Retroscreen Virology rises 14.3 percent after clinical servicesprovider reports full-year revenues for 2013 significantly ahead of marketexpectations, prompting Numis to raise the stock to "buy" from "hold".
