UK small caps close down 0.1 percent, outperforming the mid-caps and the blue chips, which both fall 0.6.
Green Compliance jumps 16.7 percent after the company says it hassecured a new debt agreement with HSBC and reports a 5 percent rise in firstquarter revenues against the previous three months.
"We believe this (credit facility) speaks volumes as it highlights thesupportive nature of GCO's debt providers and their willingness to back the newmanagement/strategy," Gurpreet Gujral, analyst at N+1 Singer, writes in a note.
"It is also encouraging to see evidence of some green shoots of recovery inthe last quarter through contract renewals, cross selling and the implementationof a cost reduction scheme."
Elsewhere, shares in Talvivaara add 7.3 percent after the minersays its metals plant in eastern Finland is back online, having been shut fornearly a week due to a waste water leak.
