(ShareCast News) - A Ten Alps' television documentary on Japanese-Korean relations has been chosen as the first programme to be screened by a new TV channel, the group said.The new current affairs and history channel was launched by Niconico, a Japanese digital video streaming service.Ten Alps' chief executive Mark Wood said the choice of its programme "speaks volumes about the global reputation of our TV brands and creative talent".Furthermore, Wood added the deal also reflects the group's strategy on working with the new digital on-demand programming platforms.It follows the acquisition of Reed TV, a daytime television programming, and the comissioning of an 8-part series on global brands by China's national broadcaster CCTV.N+1 Singer analysts said the appointment "says volumes about the type of work that Ten Alps has the credibility to produce".The broker added: "This type of high quality documentary normally generates a much better than average commission value. Producing product for video on demand services also shows the TV business is focused on a key growth segment."Looking forward we expect Ten Alps to benefit from further international expansion as well as the recent acquisition of Reef that has broadened its product portfolio and scaled the TV operation."
