Scisys Wins GBP2.6 Million Contract Within UK DEFRA Software Programme

Mon, 14th Oct 2019 09:27

(Alliance News) - Scisys Group PLC said Monday it won a GBP2.6 million multi-year contract to provide software services to the Livestock Information Programme being run by the UK Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs.

Scisys has been selected by Shearwell Data Ltd - the lead contractor on the DEFRA project - to provide IT services, project management, integration and management software.

The Livestock Information Programme provides a means to develop world-leading standards of livestock traceability within the UK.

The anticipated contract value for Scisys is expected to be GBP2.6 million. Work will begin later in October, continuing until 2022 with the potential to extend to 2024.

In 2018, Scisys generated GBP2.0 million pretax profit on revenue of GBP58.4 million.

"We are delighted with this significant contract win, which, despite strong international competition, underlines Scisys' position as a provider of complex IT services for public projects," Chief Executive Officer Klaus Heidrich said. "My thanks go out to the teams responsible for winning this contract."

Shares in Scisys were 0.4% lower at 251.00 pence in London on Monday.
