LONDON (Alliance News) - Sportech PLC on Wednesday said it has received "a number of indicative proposals" to acquire The Football Pools business.
The gaming company said it has invited all the interested suitors to table their best and final proposals for the business by mid-January, after which it will consider the bids and determine whether selling the business is in the best interests of shareholders.
On Monday, Netplay TV PLC had confirmed it was holding talks about a reverse takeover of the Sportech football pools business, though said the discussions were at a "very preliminary stage".
No other potential bidders have yet been named.
The Football Pools is a major part of Sportech's business, which also includes horse-racing operations.
