LONDON (Alliance News) - Strategic Minerals PLC said Friday it started a 10-hole drilling programme at its Leigh Creek copper mine, seeking to discover additional copper resources.
The company said that the drilling programme forms part of its strategy to restart operation at Leigh Creek, in South Australia, which it expects to be able to achieve by mid-2019.
Managing Director John Peters said: "The commencement of the first exploration drilling on the Leigh Creek copper mine mining licences for over 40 years is a new and potentially exciting phase for the mine."
Strategic Minerals shares were untraded at 1.35 pence each on Friday.
