LONDON (Alliance News) - Lender Shawbrook Group PLC is set to appoint Iain Cornish to succeed the departing George Mathewson as its chairman, Sky News reported on Wednesday citing insiders.
Sky News said that announcement about Cornish's appointment should follow in the coming days.
Shawbrook declined to comment to Alliance News.
Cornish, who is a former director of the Yorkshire Building Society, stepped down from the board of the Prudential Regulation Authority, a Bank of England regulator, at the end of March.
According to the Bank of England's statement at the end of March, Cornish would be taking up a new position outside the PRA.
Mathewson, who chaired Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC between 2001 and 2006 after leading the bank as chief executive, oversaw Shawbrook's float on the London Stock Exchange.
Shawbrook shares were up 0.4% at 304.75 pence on Wednesday afternoon. The lender's initial public offering was priced at 290 pence per share.
