Seeing Machines creates Europe sales team

Wed, 13th Oct 2021 12:37

(Sharecast News) - Computer vision technology company Seeing Machines announced the establishment of a European sales team based in Amsterdam on Wednesday, to lead the next phase of its business development and focus on growing demand in Europe for its aftermarket driver safety technology, 'Guardian'.
The AIM-traded firm said that as the focus on road safety ramped up, its aftermarket division had bolstered its direct sales team to support increased interest from companies to deploy driver-focussed safety technology across vehicle fleets.

It said the most recent development was on the back of the recently-announced deal with Shell Global Solutions to deploy Guardian technology across its network of vehicles over the next two-to-three years.

Seeing Machines said Guardian was now operational in over 400 companies and 26 countries globally.

It also announced that Gerard van den Houten had been appointed to head up the European team, supported by two additional sales resources due to start in the coming months.

Van den Houten would lead the Europe, Middle East and Africa focus for Guardian sales.

"We are pleased to welcome Gerard to our growing team. The establishment of this Europe-based team will be further bolstered by our growing distribution network in South Africa, the Middle East, Turkey, the UK and Ireland," said general manager of aftermarket, Max Verberne.

"Supporting key clients to successfully deploy Guardian is our focus and with experienced people like Gerard and his team on board to manage the demand from Europe, we are well placed to achieve our aftermarket objectives."

At 1212 BST, shares in Seeing Machines were up 4.28% at 10.2p.
