LONDON (Alliance News) - Berry Global Group Inc on Friday confirmed its 793 pence per share cash offer for plastic packaging producer RPC Group PLC is "final".
However, Berry added it would have the option of increasing the offer if a third party makes a bid for RPC.
Furthermore, Berry said it has made "good progress" in relation to the acquisition, with the submission of regulatory filings being submitted to the relevant authorities. Berry expects the deal to close early in the third quarter of 2019.
RPC will hold a meeting of shareholder to vote on the acquisition on April 18.
At the beginning on March, RPC agreed the 793 pence per share deal with US-based Berry Global, having previously agreed a 782p deal with Apollo Management IX LP. The deals would value RPC at approximately GBP3.34 billion and GBP3.32 billion respectively.
RPC shares were trading down 0.9% at 791.40p each early Friday morning.
