HOUSTON, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell Plc
plans to begin restarting the 230,611-barrel-per-day (bpd)
Norco, Louisiana, oil refinery in about two weeks, sources
familiar with plant operations said on Sunday.
If Shell is able to make that time frame for restarting, the
Norco refinery will have been shut for three weeks by Hurricane
Ida.
Shell stopped production on Aug. 28 as Ida was bearing down
on the Louisiana coast.
Shell spokesman Curtis Smith said on Sunday that the
refinery is without power.
"There's nothing I can add on a timeline to return to
operations," Smith said. "It's my understanding they are fully
without power still."
Shell has said damage was found in the refinery. The sources
said some production units were damaged, but did not know which
units and the extent of the damage received.
