HOUSTON, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell hasput its 300,000 barrels per day Louisiana-to-Texas Westward Hocrude oil pipeline project on hold to focus on securing moreshipper commitments, a company spokeswoman said on Tuesday.
The pipeline had been scheduled to start up in 2015, but thecompany advised customers, contractors and others of itsdecision to pause construction.
"Shell Pipeline believes there will be a need for additionalcrude transportation capacity along the route of the Westward Hopipeline in the near future and will continue to review theproject to ensure it is designed to provide the best value forShell and our customers," the company said.
