Quarto Enters Joint Venture With Kalimat For Arab-Language Books

Thu, 14th Apr 2016 07:54

LONDON (Alliance News) - Illustrated book publisher Quarto Group Inc on Thursday said it has entered into a joint venture with United Arab Emirates-based Kalimat Group to create Arab language books.

Quarto imprints will supply titles to the joint venture, which will publish and distribute them in Arabic throughout the Middle East and North Africa, starting in early 2017.

No financial details on the partnership were disclosed.

"Our stated intention to develop our business internationally sees a further iteration in the Arabic-speaking world. A partnership with such a pioneering publisher as Kalimat Group and the launch of Kalimat Quarto is exciting and raises the bar yet again for further partnerships in other territories," said Quarto Chief Executive Marcus Leaver.

Quarto shares were untraded on Thursday, having last traded at 244.94 pence.
