Motive Television Inks Renewal Agreement With Mediaset

Fri, 05th Sep 2014 07:26

LONDON (Alliance News) - Motive Television PLC said Friday that it has signed a renewal agreement with Reti Televisive Italiane SpA, also known as Mediaset, to continue to provide support and other technology services.

Financial details of the renewal were not disclosed, although the company said that the terms of the agreement are in line with the support and maintenance agreement with Mediaset it announced last October.

Additionally, Motive has agreed to provide Mediaset, the controlling shareholder in which is controversial former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, with a demonstration of its Tablet TV technology for evaluation, with a view to launch the product in Italy.

"Mediaset was Motive's first major deployment of the platform nearly five years ago and we are pleased with its reliable and successful performance, which was a key requirement of Mediaset," said Chief Executive Leonard Fertig in a statement. "Our relationship with Italy's premier media company and one of Europe's largest broadcasters remains strong and we are looking forward to providing Mediaset with new products and features."

Motive shares were up 2.2% to 0.0161 pence in early trade on Friday.
