LONDON (Alliance News) - Distil PLC on Monday saw its shares rise in early trade on Monday after the company said it has gained a range of new distribution outlets and promotions for its products in the UK in the lead up to Christmas.
The company's RedLeg Spiced Caribbean Rum is now available in the Castle Pub estate run by Mitchells & Butlers PLC, while wholesaler Booker Group PLC is adding the product to all of its cash and carry branches.
Elsewhere, Distil said J Sainsbury PLC is promoting its Blackwoods gin product and Tesco PLC has Blackwoods Vodka listed in 51 stores.
Majestic Wine PLC is listing Blackwoods Vodka and RedLeg Rum in its branches across the UK, starting this month, and Australian drinks retailer Dan Murphy, part of the Woolworths Group, is to promote RedLeg Rum in the run-up to Christmas.
"These new listings reflect our focus of working with distributors to build brand availability and awareness supported by activity at the point of sale. Our brands enjoy support across major trade channels, in customers large and small, offering both retailers and consumers a clear point of difference at an affordable premium," said Distil Executive Chairman Don Goulding.
Distil shares were the best performer in the AIM All-Share on the news, up 25% to 0.75 pence.
