LONDON (Alliance News) - The chairman of Mercia Technologies PLC said Friday the company was seeing an increasing number of investment opportunities, whilst its existing investments continue to make progress.
Since its financial year ended March, Mercia's investment portfolio was described by Chair Susan Searle as having made "good overall progress" with "significant commercial milestones" being achieved by its direct investee firms Oxford Genetics, nDreams and Aston EyeTech.
"We are seeing an increasing number of exciting investment opportunities for Mercia's third-party managed funds which will, in due course, lead to further balance sheet direct investment opportunities," Searle added, speaking at the firm's annual general meeting.
"Our focus remains on growing the net asset value of the group's direct investments by utilising Mercia's differentiated model to create long term value for shareholders," Searle continued. "We look forward to updating shareholders on further positive progress throughout the year."
Shares in Mercia were 0.3% lower at 35.40 pence on Friday.
