Intelligent Ultrasound Inks Pact For Clinician Training Simulators

Thu, 17th Oct 2019 14:12

(Alliance News) - Intelligent Ultrasound Group PLC said Thursday it has entered into agreement with Fujifilm SonoSite Inc, part of Fujifilm Healthcare, to deliver a training solution to the point of care ultrasound market.

The Cardiff, UK, and Georgia, US-headquartered ultrasound software and simulation company said the agreement includes the company's BodyWorks EVE point-of-care ultrasound training simulator and the HeartWorks transthoracic echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography simulator training platforms that can be used to accelerate training for all Fujifilm SonoSite's point-of-care ultrasound systems.

Intelligent Ultrasound said with the help of company's simulators, clinicians will have access to added training modules that will help improve their clinical knowledge and diagnostic confidence.

Ian Whittaker, chief operating officer and head of the simulation division at Intelligent Ultrasound Group, said: "We feel this agreement will have a very positive effect, not only on improving scanning skills of the clinicians, but on patient outcomes as well."

Intelligent Ultrasound shares were up 13% in London at 11.26 pence each in London on Thursday afternoon.
