LONDON (Alliance News) - John Lewis of Hungerford PLC Friday said it has exchanged contracts with an unnamed firm to lease a new showroom in Chiswick, west London.
The showroom is expected to open in May and will become the 15th in the portfolio, including the bedroom-only showroom opened in Wantage, Oxfordshire last year.
"We have long held an ambition to open a store in Chiswick as we believe it is a location that fits extremely well with our brand," Chairman Malcolm Hepworth said in a statement.
"The new store will enable us to gain greater sales penetration within our core market without impacting on the performance of our existing sites," he added.
The specialist kitchen manufacturer did not disclose the financial details of the detail. Shares were up 2.2% at 2.61 pence early Friday.
