Mon, 14th Nov 2016 08:04

LONDON (Alliance News) - Interserve PLC on Monday said it has secured a new five-year total facilities management account with six UK government departments, worth over GBP40.0 million.

Interserve noted this was the first time all six department's facilities will be handled by a single provider, with the deal anticipated to achieve annual double-digit cost savings across the departments.

The contract was awarded through the Crown Commercial Services framework agreement for facilities management services. Under the deal, Interserve will deliver security, catering,front-of-house as well as mechanical and electrical maintenance.

Interserve already currently has partnerships with the Home Office, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Health and Safety Laboratory in Buxton.

"We have excellent relationships in central government and are very pleased to be expanding this partnership into new departments," said Chief Executive Adrian Ringrose.

Interserve shares were up 2.0% to 366.43 pence at the open on Monday.
