(Alliance News) - Imperial Brands PLC on Wednesday said it has appointed Alan Johnson as a non-executive director, effective from January 1, 2021.
Johnson is currently president and chair of the International Federation of Accountants and chair of the International Valuation Standards Council's audit committee.
He held a number of senior finance positions at Unilever during a 30-year career, including chief audit executive and chief financial officer of the Global Foods Division. He was previously chief financial officer and then a non-executive director at food retailer Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA until April 2016.
Chair Therese Esperdy said: "As well as his financial acumen and international experience across mature and developing markets, Alan has a track record of successfully managing business transformations. These skills and capabilities will further strengthen the board's effectiveness as we enter the next important phase of Imperial's development."
Shares in Imperial Brands were up 1.4% at 1,397.50 pence in London on Wednesday.
