Britain's small cap equity indexes outperform a fall on the blue-chip equityindex.
The FTSE Small Caps Index rises by 0.1 percent, while thejunior-listed FTSE AIM All Share Index is flat, with both outperforminga 0.6 percent fall on the blue-chip FTSE 100 index. The FTSE 250 midcaps index weakens by 0.5 percent.
Camco Clean Energy, a company whose activities include developingrenewable energy projects, rises 5.6 percent after the REDT business - in whichCamco has a 49 percent stake - wins a 3.6 million pound ($5.74 million) contractwith the UK's Department for Energy and Climate.
"This is a significant award for REDT as it provides the funding for a fullscale utility demonstration system that will be installed in real-life operatingconditions," house broker N+1 Singer writes in a research note.
Intercede advances by 6.3 percent after the security softwarecompany wins a U.S. contract.
Gold exploration company Nyota Minerals slumps by 14.5percent after river Centamin sells down some more of its stake in thecompany.
