LONDON (Alliance News) - Brickmaker Ibstock PLC on Thursday said it made a "solid start" to the year as market conditions remained stable despite political uncertainty in the UK.
The FTSE 250 company kept its expectations for the full year unchanged, saying it anticipates another year of progress for the group.
Ibstock said it saw "strong" revenue growth in its clay brick business, in the four months since January.
Meanwhile, the concrete business continued to benefit from good demand from the housing market.
"Activity in the broader remodeling and infrastructure markets has been more subdued however, and this is contributing to lower demand for some of our concrete products," the firm added.
Ibstock will publish its results, for the six months ending June 30, on July 31.
Shares in the company were trading up 0.5% at 247.30 pence each.
