(Sharecast News) - Advanced materials company Haydale Graphene announced the appointment of Mark Chapman as its new chief financial officer and a director on Friday, with immediate effect.
The AIM-traded firm said Chapman was replacing Laura Redman-Thomas who, as it announced last month, had left to take up a new role.
It said that for the last 19 years, Chapman has held a number of CFO and chief operating officer roles within international companies in the medical technologies, beverages and consumer sectors, where he helped to deliver "strong improvements" in business sustainability and EBITDA growth.
Prior to moving into industry, he spent eight years in professional services firms, including five years as a corporate financier with Deloitte.
Before embarking on his career in finance, Chapman was a commissioned officer in the British Army and served in Northern Ireland.
He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1995, and holds a degree in economics from the University of Birmingham.
"I'm delighted that Mark is joining Haydale at this exciting time for the group," said non-executive chairman David Banks.
"He has clearly demonstrated his ability to bring about improvements in all of the businesses in which he has been involved and we look forward to benefiting from Mark's experience over the coming years."
Keith Broadbent, chief executive officer of Haydale, added that he was "pleased" Mark was joining the team.
"His experience is very well suited to Haydale's current stage of development as we progress through the commercialisation journey."
At 1426 GMT, shares in Haydale Graphene Industries were down 0.95% at 1.56p.
