Forte Energy Files Court Proceedings In Slovakia Over Kursikova Permit

Thu, 25th Jun 2015 09:40

LONDON (Alliance News) - Forte Energy NL on Thursday said its Slovak Republic subsidiary has filed court proceedings against the country's environment ministry in respect of its decision not to grant an extension to uranium permits for the Kursikova deposit.

Ludovika Energy SRO, Forte Energy's local subsidiary, is asking the court or review the decision by the ministry to determine whether it was made in accordance with geological laws in the country.

"This is the first step to remedy what the company's legal advisers believe to be a violation of the geological law of Slovakia," Forte said in a statement.

"If successful in the proceedings, it is the view of the company's advisers that Ludovika would be entitled to compensation," it added.

Shares in Forte were up 6.2% to 0.0637 pence on Thursday.
