Shares in Eckoh jumped 13% after the speech recognition specialist announced a contract worth at least £1.5m to provide its services to a major government transport organisation for five years.Shed Media is performing better than last year despite tougher economic conditions, the company behind TV programmes such as Waterloo Road and New Tricks said. The new contract has a total value of €1.1m, of which Globo's share is €550,000. The project will be completed by the end of 2009 with all of the revenues being earned in the current year. Interserve has been named preferred bidder by HSBC for a £200m contract to provide facilities management services across the banking and financial services organisation's property portfolio in the UK. The portfolio comprises over 1,600 retail and 80 office sites and includes buildings in Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. It also covers HSBC's global headquarters in Canary Wharf, London. The contract, one of the largest of its kind in the UK, is expected to be signed in the autumn and will then run for three years with an option to extend thereafter for a further two.MTI Wireless's profits slumped to €119,000 from €893,000 in the half year to June. Revenues for the first half were US$6.9m (H1 2008: $8.9m). 'Trading in the second half has remained challenging as the Company operates in difficult market conditions,' it said.
