Grèves et pénuries de personnel dans les aéroports européens menacent la saison estivale

9 juin (Reuters) - Les aéroports européens s'efforcent de recruter davantage d'employés, de réduire le nombre de vols annulés et de limiter les difficultés rencontrées par les voyageurs, alors que les grèves et pénuries de personnel menacent de perturber la saison estivale.

Un quart des vols ont été annulés jeudi matin à l'aéroport Roissy-Charles De Gaulle en raison d'une grève des employés qui réclament une hausse de salaire et de meilleurs conditions de travail, alors que les aéroports européens ont du mal à faire face à une hausse soudaine du nombre de passagers.

En Italie, les équipages des compagnies aériennes low-cost Ryanair, easyJet et Volotea se sont mis en grève mercredi.

Le personnel de cabine de Ryanair envisage de faire grève en Europe cet été, après la fin des négociations avec deux syndicats espagnols, selon une déclaration des syndicats SITCPLA et USO.

Les gestionnaires d'aéroports cherchent à recruter rapidement de nouveaux employés afin de limiter les annulations de vols et les files d'attente de plusieurs heures.

Après avoir souffert de la pandémie de COVID-19, les compagnies aériennes s'attendent à un été fructueux, les tarifs augmentant pour compenser la hausse du prix du carburant.

Le directeur de l'Association internationale du transport aérien (IATA) a déclaré que les congestions étaient également présentes avant la pandémie et qu'elles se limitaient désormais à certains aéroports, aggravées par les délais d'obtention des badges de sécurité requis pour le personnel nouvellement embauché.

En Europe, les aéroports de Dublin et Heathrow recrutent des agents de contrôle, tandis que l'aéroport Schiphol d'Amsterdam va augmenter les salaires de son personnel.

L'Espagne a annoncé mardi embaucher 500 policiers supplémentaires pour assurer le contrôle des passeports dans les aéroports très fréquentés et les destinations touristiques, dont Madrid.
