easyJet was a big faller after Bank of America cut its price target and lowered its outlook for the airline, blaming its decision on higher fuel costs and profit warnings amongst other stocks in the sector. Its peer, IAG was also flying lower, while Sports Direct was hot on its heels as investors continue to react negatively to the group's recently announced bonus scheme that controversially includes founder Mike Ashley. Meanwhile, media stocks were in demand, with both ITV and BSkyB rising strongly. Shares in Diageo and SABMiller were also on the up today after it was rumoured that the companies could combine, creating a drinks group worth over £100bn at current market prices. It is thought that Peroni and Grolsch maker SABMiller, the larger of two with a market capitalisation of around £54bn, could be eyeing a possible merger with Smirnoff and Baileys manufacturer Diageo in an attempt to ward off an approach from drinks giant AB Inbev, which has been rumoured as a potential bidder in recent weeks.Pharmaceutical group Shire was also higher on reports that the boss of US rival AbbVie, which recently made a £27bn takeover for Shire, is travelling to London to hold talks with its shareholders. Shire also announced today that it is to receive a total of $410m as a tax refund from Canadian authorities.FTSE 100 - RisersITV (ITV) 179.00p +1.65%British Sky Broadcasting Group (BSY) 906.00p +1.46%Diageo (DGE) 1,871.00p +1.27%Old Mutual (OML) 198.30p +1.17%Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS) 330.40p +1.04%London Stock Exchange Group (LSE) 2,010.00p +1.00%Pearson (PSON) 1,146.00p +0.97%Aberdeen Asset Management (ADN) 451.70p +0.96%Johnson Matthey (JMAT) 3,089.00p +0.88%SABMiller (SAB) 3,395.50p +0.88%FTSE 100 - FallerseasyJet (EZJ) 1,367.00p -6.31%International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (CDI) (IAG) 370.90p -3.36%Sports Direct International (SPD) 706.50p -2.35%St James's Place (STJ) 759.50p -1.68%Marks & Spencer Group (MKS) 425.70p -1.44%BG Group (BG.) 1,231.50p -1.20%GKN (GKN) 362.80p -1.14%Lloyds Banking Group (LLOY) 74.51p -1.11%RSA Insurance Group (RSA) 475.10p -1.04%Hargreaves Lansdown (HL.) 1,249.00p -1.03%NR
