EXECUTIVE CHANGES: AB Dynamics founder retires; Resolute hires CFO

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Wednesday and Thursday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

AB Dynamics PLC - Bradford On Avon, Wiltshire-based testing systems and measurement products for automotive market - Executive Chair Tony Best retires effective immediately following an extended leave of absence on health grounds. Best founded AB Dynamics in 1982 and joined the board in 2013 when the company listed on AIM. Upon his return from leave, he will be appointed a special advisor to the board. Acting Non-Executive Chair Dick Elsy is appointed chair.

Renalytix PLC - Cardiff, Wales-based clinical diagnostics for kidney disease - Co-Founder & Non-Executive Director Barbara Murphy dies on Tuesday. "Dr Murphy had continued to fully discharge her duties as a director through a recent period of illness, however over the past few weeks her health deteriorated," Renalytix says. It will appoint an new non-executive director. Verici Dx PLC also notes Murphy's death. A non-executive director, she joined the Verici Dx board in April 2020. Verici Dx says: "The company is in advanced discussions to appoint an additional non-executive director with appropriate specialist skills in renal transplantation."

ReNeuron Group PLC - cell-based therapeutics headquartered in Bridgend, Wales - Iain Ross joins board as non-executive director, effective immediately. Tim Corn steps down as chair but remains on board as non-executive director. Ross is non-executive chair of London- and New York-listed Silence Therapeutics PLC and of New York- and Sydney-listed Kazia Therapeutics Ltd.

Resolute Mining Ltd - operates gold mines Syama in Mali and Mako in Senegal - Hires Doug Warden as chief financial officer, starting September 1. Warden replaces Stuart Gale, who was promoted to managing director & CEO. Warden was CFO of CBH Group, an Australian grain growers' cooperative that handles, markets and processes wheat. Prior to CBH, Warden worked for Sydney-listed Iluka Resources Ltd, a producer of zircon.

Beazley PLC - London-based insurer and manager of Lloyd's syndicates - Hires Raj Agrawal as non-executive director, starting August 1. Agrawal is CFO of New York-listed money transfer firm Western Union Co.

Petra Diamonds Ltd - diamond miner in South Africa - Hires new independent non-executive director and appoints two new non-independent directors, all effective immediately. Deborah Gudgeon joins the board as an independent director. She was finance executive for Africa-focused mining and trading group Lonrho PLC and currently is an independent non-executive director of Russian steel maker Evraz PLC. Alex Watson and Johannes Bhatt join as non-independent non-executive directors. Watson represents shareholder Franklin Templeton and Bhatt represents Monarch Master Funding 2 (Luxembourg) Sarl. Watson also is an independent non-executive director of Johannesburg-listed retailer Steinhoff International Holdings NV.

Alliance Trust PLC - invests in global equities for long-term capital growth and rising income - Sarah Bates replaces Karl Sternberg as senior independent director, as Sternberg steps down from board. Chris Samuel will leave the board at the next annual general meeting. On Thursday, Samuel joined the board of London-based wealth manager Quilter PLC as an independent non-executive director.

Powerhouse Energy Group PLC - Yorkshire-based hydrogen producer from non-recyclable waste plastic - Non-Executive Director Mark Berry will step down before the next AGM. Non-Executive Director James Greenstreet will postpone his retirement from the board until the AGM in 2022. Powerhouse on Thursday reported a widened pretax loss for 2020 of GBP16.0 million.

Vietnam Enterprise Investments Ltd - invests in Vietnamese equities - Derek Loh retires as director on Wednesday, having served on the board since 2011. Low Suk Ling is hired as independent non-executive director, starting Thursday. Low is associate general counsel for Asia with Marsh McLennan in Singapore.

Global Invacom Group Ltd - Whitstable, Kent and Singapore-based satellite communications equipment and electronics - Malcolm Burrell steps down as executive director and chief technical officer as part of his retirement plan but remains chief risk officer. Chief Operating Officer Gordon Blaikie promoted to executive director, effective immediately. EMEA Engineering Director Derek Grice is promoted to CTO. Blaikie joined Global Invacom in 2012 and Grice in September last year.

Fintel PLC - Huddersfield, England-based - technology and support for retail financial services sector - Hires Matt West as chief revenue officer, starting Thursday. West was chief executive officer of Feefo, a customer review technology platform. West will work to increase Fintel's digital revenue growth.

Dolphin Capital Investors Ltd - investor in high-end resort developments in the eastern Mediterranean - Appoints Martin Adams, Nicholas Paris and Nicolai Huls as non-executive directors, with Adams named chair. Andrew Coppel, Graham Warner and Mark Townsend step down as non-executive directors. Founder Miltos Kambourides remains a non-independent director. Shareholders back in 2019 had extended Dolphin's divestment period to the end of 2021. The new board will set a strategy and call a general meeting before the end of the 2021, likely in the fourth quarter, to consider a further extension of the divestment period. Adams is chair of Eastern European Property Fund Ltd and senior independent director of Marwyn Value Investors Ltd.
