Rupert Soames retiring from Electrocomponents board

(ShareCast News) - Electrocomponents announced the retirement of Rupert Soames as non-executive director on Thursday.The FTSE 250 company said Soames had served on the board for nine years.It confirmed he was stepping down after the next Annual General Meeting."The board would like to express its gratitude to Rupert for his significant contribution over the years," said Electrocomponents chairman Peter Johnson."I have found his advice invaluable and I wish him well for the future".The company gave no indications as to how or when Soames' position would be filled.
