(Alliance News) - DX Group PLC on Monday said it has launched a strategic initiative with Silva Brothers Ltd to use its electric vehicles for London parcel deliveries.
DX Group is a Buckinghamshire, England-based delivery solutions provider, including parcel freight, secure courier, and logistics services.
The company has worked with Silva Brothers, a London-based courier company, as one of its 'final-mile' delivery partners for parcels since 2021.
An initial 20 vehicles have already been launched as part of the first phase of the joint electrification program.
Liveried with DX branding, the vehicles will provide support for DX Express' growing parcels operation. The initial electric fleet is expected to deliver 750,000 parcels in its first full year of operation.
This news follows a similar announcement several weeks ago of DX's acquisition of a fleet of electric vehicles to use in its delivery and logistics partnership with IKEA.
The company's second major investment program is due to invest GBP20 million to GBP25 million over three years across the group, including in additional parcel-handling equipment.
Managing Director Martin Illidge said: "The growth of the parcels service is a major focus for the DX Express division, and we are now pleased to offer our customers this more environmentally-friendly approach to our highly secure, next-day delivery service."
Shares in DX Group were suspended in January pending the publication of its 2021 annual report. The report was delayed by a corporate governance inquiry. In September, the inquiry said there may have been a breach of the Bribery Act after "confidential competitor information" was obtained in exchange for payment.
