(Sharecast News) - Graphene-based product producer Directa Plus announced the receipt of two orders from an unnamed Italian workwear customer on Tuesday, with an aggregate value for Directa Plus of around €0.5m over the next two financial years. The AIM-traded company said the order demonstrated continued commercial progress in textiles - one of its key markets.Directa Plus's 'Planar Thermal Circuit' graphene technology would be incorporated in 10,000 workwear garments, with the first order for approximately 2,000 garments with a value for Directa Plus of €0.15m expected to be delivered in the 2018 financial year. The second order for approximately 8,000 garments with a value of €0.35m was then expected to be delivered by mid-2019.In line with its strategy to move up the value chain, Directa Plus said it would supply the customer with a package including materials, technology and "know-how" to enable the customer to create workwear garments that were more comfortable through enhanced temperature control, and durable. They would also be hypoallergenic, and non-toxic and non-cytotoxic, as a result of the company's chemical-free production process."This new order illustrates the commercial traction we have built in the very large workwear sector, as well as our determination to deliver significant orders in the shortest possible time from announced initial collaborations," said Directa Plus founder and chief executive officer Giulio Cesareo."Our expertise in textiles continues to grow as we help more customers launch differentiated garments based on our Planar Thermal Circuit graphene technology."We expect further orders from existing and new customers in textiles in the next few months."
