SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: Petrofac plunges again; Card Factory up

Tue, 30th Apr 2024 11:04

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Tuesday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

Card Factory PLC, up 6.3% at 106.91 pence, 12-month range 79.60p-119.80p. Card Factory says its revenue in the year to January 31 climbs 10% to GBP510.9 million from GBP463.4 million a year prior. The greeting cards seller says pretax profit surged by 25% to GBP65.6 million from GBP52.4 million. It returns to the dividend list, with a 4.5p payout. It had suspended its dividend following the outbreak of Covid-19.

----------

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

----------

Petrofac Ltd, down 28% at 10.58p, 12-month range 10.05p-87.50p. The stock slides again after a 34% slump on Monday. It warned at the start of the week that a financial restructuring could see a chunk of its debt converted to equity, resulting in dilution of existing shareholders. The energy infrastructure company also flagged an extra USD130 million charge in its engineering and construction division and said the release of full-year results would be delayed. The stock hits this 52-week low on Tuesday, and shares are down 86% over the past 12 months.

----------

Anglo-Eastern Plantations PLC, down 8.2% at 703.54p, 12-month range 650.50p-886.00p. The Indonesia and Malaysia-focused palm oil and rubber producer says revenue in 2023 slumps 17% to USD371.0 million from USD447.6 million. Its pretax profit falls 41% to USD77.8 million from USD132.9 million. Anglo-Eastern lifts its annual dividend to 30.0 cents, from 25.0 cents.
