Robust first half at Carclo

Technical plastics group Carclo reported a robust first half in line with company forecasts and is confident the second half will build on this momentum.Pre-tax profit increased to £2.5m in the six months to 30 September from £1.7m the year before. Revenue increased to £43.8m from £41m a year before after a strong performance from medical diagnostic and LED optical products. Chairman Christopher Ross said, "The strategic progress made in the half year was excellent and the financial results were encouraging set against a background of continued economic uncertainty."Carclo expects an improved second half performance in its Precision Products business after it was hit by customer delays in supercar lighting programmes in the first half. The group expects continued opportunities in medical diagnostics and LED optics.
