(ShareCast News) - 21st Century Technology, which provides tailored solutions to the transport sector, reported that Arriva UK Bus has extended its CCTV and IT systems contract with it by two years.Arriva UK Bus, which is part of the Arriva Group, owned by Deutsche Bahn, has extended its existing framework agreement through to February 2017 with an option for an additional year to February 2020.The company has provided on-board CCTV systems and IT since 2002 to help Arriva protect passengers, drivers and members of the public on a fleet of 5,900 buses, of which 1,600 in London provide 17% of the capital's bus services.Chief executive Russ Singleton said: "We will continue to invest in the development of innovative technologies and back-office processes, as part of our drive to continuously improve system reliability and performance, at the same time as reduce whole life-cycle costs for all our customers".Shares in 21st Century Technology were up 29.55% to 2.75p at 1040 GMT.
