LONDON (Alliance News) - 21st Century Technology PLC Wednesday said it has secured a contract with one of the UK's major rail franchises as well as a new framework agreement with a large passenger transport authority customer, which it didn't name.
The vehicle electronics provider said the rail contract, worth GBP0.3 million, is for the upgrade of CCTV systems on and around a number of railway stations, and is scheduled to be completed during the first half of 2016.
The framework agreement is for the supply, installation and maintenance of bus passenger information display 'totems' incorporating a software-based content management system. The first order of 17 totems is worth GBP0.3 million and is scheduled to be complete in the first quarter of 2016.
"We are pleased with our continuing progress in extending our rail offering and building on the existing relationship with this important PTA. The railway station contract extends our capabilities to include track-side and platform CCTV which complements the other range of on-train solutions we already provide such as forward facing situational awareness and in-carriage CCTV surveillance," Chief Executive Russ Singleton said in a statement.
"The framework agreement with the PTA broadens our revenue base in urban travel information provision by combining our ruggedized public display systems with sophisticated content management software which provides the PTA with a more powerful active messaging service to their general public," he added.
Ruggedized means hard-wearing and shock-resistant.
Shares in 21st Century Technology were untraded on Wednesday, last quoted at 4.25 pence.
