(ShareCast News) - 21st Century Technology has been awarded a contract with one of the UK's major rail franchises, as well as a new framework agreement with a large passenger transport authority.The AIM-listed specialist technology service provider announced the deals, valued at a total of £0.6m, on Wednesday.The company will upgrade CCTV systems on and around a number of railway stations in the deal with the rail franchise.It already provides high-definition CCTV systems to the operator and is already in the process of installing its latest 'in-carriage' systems across their fleet.The railway station contract, valued at £0.3m, is scheduled to be completed during the first half of 2016, with significant works undertaken in 2015.As part of the framework agreement for the passenger transport authority, it will supply, install and maintain bus passenger information display 'totems' which will show travel information and broadcast quality marketing and public service messaging.Under the agreement, the first order is valued at £0.3m for 17 totems due to be installed and operational in the first quarter of 2016.They will be supported by the company under a five year contract.Chief executive Russ Singleton said he is pleased with the extention of its rail offering and the growing relationship with the passenger transport authority."The railway station contract extends our capabilities to include track-side and platform CCTV which complements the other range of on-train solutions we already provide such as forward facing situational awareness and in-carriage CCTV surveillance."The framework agreement with the passenger transport authority broadens our revenue base in urban travel information provision by combining our ruggedized public display systems with sophisticated content management software which provides the PTA with a more powerful active messaging service to their general public."
