The phone group said on Thursday it appointed ElisabettaRomano as Chief Technology officer. Seeking to reduce Europe's dependence on a market dominatedby the U.S. and Israel, Airbus, Dassault Aviationand Leonardo, unveiled a first full-scale model oftheir planned Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) drone at theBerlin air show.(*) The group said on Friday it signed and agreement withAustralia's Ministry of defence for a local transmission repairand overhal facility.

French eyewear company Essilor, which is in theprocess of merging with Luxottica, reported on Friday a dip infirst-quarter sales on Friday as currency swings impacted itsbusiness.
The finalisation of the proposed combination between the twogroups is planned for the firs part of this year, afterobtaining all necessary authorisations.

The Berlusconi family could decide to sell its controllingshare in the private broadcaster, la Repubblica reported, thoughadding that the "hypothesis is today unlikely".
