HOUSTON, March 12 (Reuters) - Exxon Mobil Corp.'s 149,500 barrel per day (bpd) Los Angeles refinery in Torrance,California, tripped its safety flare system early on Tuesdaymorning due to a "temporary equipment mechanical issue in one ofour units," the company said.
Exxon declined to identify the unit, but said, "the refinerycontinues to operate. There is no impact to production and ExxonMobil expects to be able to meet all of its contractualcommitments."
Gasoline prices in the Los Angeles wholesale market fell onTuesday, indicating the malfunction was not seen impairinggasoline supply on the West Coast. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Diane Craft)
