NEW YORK, Feb 7 (Reuters) - Oil major BP Plc will notrestart a 260,000 barrel per day crude distillation unit at its410,000 bpd Whiting, Indiana refinery until July, several oiltraders said on Thursday, citing a report by IIR Energy.
The unit, known as Pipestill 12, had been expected torestart in May. The unit, along with a new delayed coker andother heavy oil conversion facilities, is a key piece of amodernization project at the refinery that will increase theamount of heavy oil it can process.
Oil traders had expected Pipestill 12 to process crude oilsourced from Cushing, Oklahoma until the new coking unit startsup.
BP will start the new coker in December, traders said. (Editing by David Gregorio)
