HOUSTON, Aug 11 (Reuters) - Production at BP Plc's 413,500 barrel per day (bpd) Whiting, Indiana, refinery remainscut by about 25 percent due to the slow return of a wastewatertreatment plant, sources familiar with plant operations said onThursday.
A BP spokesman declined on Thursday to discuss operations atthe Whiting refinery.
BP is carefully restoring the wastewater treatment plant'sproduction in order to avoid a malfunction like one last week,which led to greater than permitted releases of sediments intoLake Michigan, the sources said. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Sandra Maler)
