HOUSTON, July 1 (Reuters) - BP Plc said on Monday itcompleted the commissioning and startup of a new 250,000 barrelper day (bpd) crude distillation unit at its 413,000 bpdWhiting, Indiana, refinery.
The CDU is the centerpiece of a $4-billion upgrade of therefinery to increase its intake of cheaper Canadian crude oilfrom 80,000 bpd to 350,000 bpd.
BP plans to bring a new 105,000 barrel-per-day gasoilhydrotreater, a large 102,000 barrel-per-day coker and otherassociated units on line at the Whiting refinery in the secondhalf of this year, the company said in a statement. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
