(ShareCast News) - Uranium explorer and developer Berkeley Resources has secured a 'major' permitting milestone for one of its projects in Spain.In a short statement released on Monday, the Australia-based group said The Nuclear Safety Council has given the green light for grant of the initial authorisation of the proposed process plant, located in Salamanca, as a radioactive facility.The authorisation is the first of three steps the company requires to get operations underway at the site and it will allow the group to begin preliminary infrastructure works to access the plant.Berkeley said the preparation of the required documentation for the application was at a "well advanced" stage and expected to submit it over the immediate future.Berkeley shares were up 1.54% to 16.50p at 0903 BST on Tuesday.
