Beowulf Mining performed strongly on Monday morning after announcing that the test work carried out on its Kallak iron ore project in Sweden has delivered excellent results. The group reported "super" high grade concentrate, with over 71% iron content. After raising funds earlier this year, the group opted to commission further testwork on Kallak North ore to demonstrate the quality of the orebody, despite the delay in being granted an exploitation concession.Chief executive Kurt Budge said: "The programme has delivered a 'super' high grade magnetite concentrate, with the added bonus of a high grade hematite concentrate, which is what our metallurgical consultants predicted."With an enhanced understanding of the high quality products that can be produced from Kallak, we can now build on our understanding of the positioning and pricing of 'Kallak Super-con' in the markets we are targeting, and seek to realize the significant premiums paid for higher quality iron units."It anticipates that the award of an exploitation concession and improved understanding of Kallak North will support its efforts to bring in a strategic partner and investor.
