An independent valuation of rough diamonds from African Diamonds' AK6 diamond project shows average rough diamond revenue per carat of $162 - 16.5% higher than previously. African Diamonds' partner is Lucara Diamond Corp, which took on De Beers' 71% stake in AK6. A revised feasibility study is due for completion in May and this will include a revised plan for the processing plant in order to reduce mining costs. Oil and gas producer Dragon Oil increased sales volumes by two-fifths in 2009 but the lower oil price hit revenues. Revenues fell from $706.1m to $623.5m, while profits declined from $369m to $259m. Dragon says that production reached 50,000 barrels of oil a day by the beginning of 2010. The company plans to complete up to 11 wells in 2010. It will also drill up to 40 exploration wells. Dragon will spend $250m on development projects in 2010. Helius Energy fell today after the installer of biomass-powered renewable electricity generation plants said it lost £3.97m in 2009.The group made a pre-tax profit of £30.67m the year before when it recognised a profit of £33.6m from the sale of Helius Energy Alpha.Constellation Software has increased its stake in Bond International Software to 10.35%. TSX-listed Constellation is an acquisitive software company.
