LONDON (Alliance News) - Barclays PLC has made an approach to Gerry Grimstone, who advised former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on privatisation, about appointing him as a non-executive director.
If the plans are successful, Grimstone would be set to become Barclays' deputy chairman and senior independent director when board member Mike Rake steps down next year.
Shares in Barclays were up 0.7% at 256.45 pence on Friday afternoon.
