The Dow Jonesindustrial average was down 0.66 percent at 16,422.15,the S&P 500 was down 0.74 percent at 1,870.62 and theNasdaq Composite dropped 47.18 points or 1.14 percent,to 4,090.875.

** AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL GROUP INC, $50.84, -3.57pct

The company posted a 27 percent fall in quarterly income,hurt by a drop in earnings from premiums and higher disasterlosses in its core property and casualty insurance business.

** NU SKIN ENTERPRISES INC, $82.14, -6.21 pct

The skincare products maker estimated second-quarter resultsbelow the average analyst estimate, hurt by lower contributionfrom its China operations that were halted until recently.

Nu Skin had recently said it was difficult to gauge how theChina business would perform on recommencement. It had tosuspend promotional meetings in the country after regulatorslaunched a probe in January.

** HANGER INC $30.52, -9.22 pct

The orthotic and prosthetic products distributor'sfirst-quarter results missed analysts' estimates, hurt by theimpact of a severe winter in eastern and central UnitedStates.

The company also reduced its forecast for full-year adjustedprofit and net sales.

** TWITTER INC, $32.41, -16.36 pct

Shares of the social media company fell after the expirationof a six-month "lock-up" period that had restricted the sale ofabout 470 million shares, or roughly 82 percent of the company'soutstanding equity.

** OFFICE DEPOT INC, $4.89, +17.27 pct

Office Depot raised its forecast for full-year adjustedoperating income and said it would close at least 400 stores inthe United States over two years. The company also reportedbetter-than-expected quarterly results due to cost-cutting.

** FOREST OIL CORP, $2.08, +16.20 pct

Sabine Oil & Gas LLC said it would buy Forest Oil, which isvalued at about $213 million, in an all-stock deal. Uponcompletion of the deal, Sabine unit holders will own about 73.5percent of a new combined entity and Forest shareholders willown about 26.5 percent.

** INTERACTIVE INTELLIGENCE GROUP INC, $50.46,-18.74 pct

The telecom software maker reported first-quarter earningsbelow analysts' average expectations.

Brokerage Wedbush cut its price target on the stock to $60from $80 while maintaining its "neutral" rating

** ATHENAHEALTH INC $108.8801, -14.12 pct

Hedge fund manager David Einhorn said on Monday thatathenahealth is one of the companies in which his firm,Greenlight Capital, has taken a short position.

** ADVANCED ENERGY INDUSTRIES INC, $17.11, -20.01pct

The power company reported a lower-than-expectedfirst-quarter profit on Monday due to soft demand. The companyalso forecast a decline in second-quarter orders due to lowbookings by customers of original equipment manufacturers.

** FLUIDIGM CORP $33.11, -15.21 pct

The biotechnology tools and tests maker reported abigger-than-expected loss for the first quarter on higherexpenses.

Analysts at Leerink Partners cut their price target on thecompany's stock to $48 from $52.

** TABLEAU SOFTWARE INC, $57.7, -0.50 pct

** DATAWATCH CORP, $13.41, +2.92 pct

The company reported a much smaller-than-expected quarterlyloss as the data analysis software maker added 1,800 newcustomers.

Smaller rival Datawatch's shares were also up.

** MERCK & CO INC, $57.18, -2.47 pct

Germany's Bayer AG has trumped rival bidders forMerck's consumer care business in a $14.2 billion deal, addingto a string of major cross-border deals in the healthcareindustry.

** TRIPADVISOR INC, $80.98, -4.40 pct

John Malone's Liberty Interactive filed with regulators tospin off its stake in travel website TripAdvisor and ownershipof online retailer BuySeasons into a separate company valued atabout $3 billion.

** APPLE INC, $595.85, -0.85 pct

A U.S. jury on Monday left the total damages SamsungElectronics Co Ltd must pay Apple unchanged at$119.6 million, after additional deliberations in a trial wherethe South Korean smartphone maker was found to have infringedthree Apple patents.

Separately, the company granted its new retail chief 113,334restricted stock units, the company said in a regulatory filingon Monday, valued at $68.1 million based on Monday's closingshare price.

** FABRINET, $18.7, -15.23 pct

The maker of precision optical devices forecast a weakcurrent quarter.

Needham analysts downgraded the stock to "hold" from "buy"and said the company might be losing market share in its datacommunication business.

** BARCLAYS PLC, $16.6, -3.94 pct

The company said a collapse in investment bankrevenue hit first quarter profits and was still hurting incomein April as the British bank works on an overhaul of theflagging business, expected to be announced later this week.

** TARGET CORP, $57.75, -3.54 pct

The company's decision to oust Gregg Steinhafel as chairmanand chief executive some five months after a massive data breachhas triggered concerns the No. 3 U.S. retailer might have evenmore bad news for investors.

The U.S. fertilizer company reported a 43 percent plunge inquarterly profit on Tuesday as prices of phosphate and potashdropped.

The drugmaker reported a smaller-than-expected loss in thefirst quarter, helped mainly by lower operating expenses andhigher sales of its obesity treatment.

** CORINTHIAN COLLEGES INC, $1.055, -11.34 pct

** EDUCATION MANAGEMENT CORP, $2.4999, -10.08 pct

The company said it would explore strategic alternatives asstudent enrollments decline and the company faces potentiallegal action from U.S. regulators.

** HILLSHIRE BRANDS CO, $36.5, +3.40 pct

The company reported better-than-expected quarterly results,helped by strong sales of its Jimmy Dean products includingbreakfast sandwiches.

** QUALYS INC, $20.73, +8.48 pct

The company, which provides cloud computing securitysoftware, reported better-than-expected first-quarter results onMonday, helped by new subscriptions and renewal of oldsubscriptions.

** PEREGRINE SEMICONDUCTOR CORP, $5.5, +3.40 pct

The radio frequency chipmaker reported better-than-expectedfirst-quarter revenue on Monday, helped by higher demand. Atleast two brokerages raised their price target on the company'sstock on Tuesday.

** DIRECTV, $81.95, +2.64 pct

The No.1 U.S. satellite TV provider reported abetter-than-expected quarterly profit as average revenue peruser rose in the United States.

** EOG RESOURCES INC, $103.08, +3.86 pct

The oil and gas company reported a quarterly profit thattopped Wall Street expectations on Monday, as the company pumpedhigher volumes of crude from shale fields in Texas and NorthDakota.

Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, UBS and Morgan Stanleyraised their price target on the company's stock.

** ANADARKO PETROLEUM CORP, $102.52, +3.05 pct

** TRONOX LTD, $24.73, -0.28 pct

Oil and gas explorer Anadarko said it expected to closeTronox litigation in the third or the fourth quarter.

Anadarko reported a big first-quarter loss late on Monday,compared with a year-earlier profit, as a previously announced$5.15 billion settlement related to the litigation hurt results.

** NAUTILUS INC, $9.86, +11.29 pct

The sports-equipment maker reported much better-than-expectedquarterly results on Monday as sales rose 21 percent, driven bycardio products such as the Bowflex TreadClimber and MAXTrainer.

** LEAPFROG ENTERPRISES INC, $7.285, +6.66 pct

The children's tablet maker on Monday posted asmaller-than-expected first-quarter loss. The company, whichalso reported revenue above analysts' average estimate,reaffirmed its full-year outlook.

** HYPERDYNAMICS CORP, $3.97, -10.99 pct

The oil and gas company's stock fell on Tuesday, a day afterit rose as much as 199 percent. The stock soared on Monday afterthe company said its project partner Tullow Oil hadlifted the force majeure declared on its offshore explorationblock in Guinea.

** SYPRIS SOLUTIONS INC, $3.375, +14.41 pct

The company reported a first-quarter profit, compared with aloss in the year-ago quarter, helped by increased sales in bothits industrial and electronics businesses.

The industrial business makes train components, while theelectronics business provides digital and analog data systemsand encryption devices primarily used in military applications.

** AVAGO TECHNOLOGIES LTD, $66.98, +4.25 pct

The chipmaker said it would replace LSI Corp in theS&P 500 after the close of trading on Wednesday, following theexpected closure of its deal to buy LSI on Tuesday.

** SWIFT ENERGY CO, $11.97, +9.42 pct

The oil and gas producer raised its full-year capitalexpenditure budget to $350-$400 million from $300-$350 million.The raise comes after the company said it expected to receive$175 million on closing of its joint venture with PT Saka EnergiIndonesia, a unit of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara.

Swift also said it expanded a long-term deal for natural gasgathering services in Webb County, Texas with Howard EnergyPartners.

** JINKOSOLAR HOLDING CO LTD, $27.75, +1.43 pct

The Chinese solar company reaffirmed its forecast for thefirst quarter and the full year. The company said it expectssolar module shipments of 440-470 megawatts (MW) for the quarterand 2.3-2.5 gigawatts for the year.

** ROSETTA RESOURCES INC, $45.62, -3.69 pct

BMO Capital Markets and Topeka Capital Markets lowered theirprice target on the oil and gas producer's stock, citing highercosts and lower-than-expected production in the first quarterended March 31.

Topeka Capital lowered its price target on the stock to $62from $66, while BMO lowered its price target to $46 from $52.

** SOLAZYME INC, $10.45, -3.78 pct

The renewable oil and bioproducts producer reported abigger-than-expected first-quarter loss as expenses rose 49percent.

** CYNOSURE INC, $22.772, -10.35 pct

The laser aesthetic device maker posted lower-than-expectedquarterly results on weak sales of its laser products in NorthAmerica and higher operating expenses.

** TREE.COM INC, $24.7601, -14.91 pct

The operator of LendingTree.com, which lists home loanoffers, widened its first-quarter loss per share from continuingoperations to 52 cents from 2 cents a year earlier, due to asurge in expenses.

The company said it expects its second-quarter core earningsto be in the range of $4.5 million to $5 million, belowanalysts' average estimate of $5.5 million, according to ThomsonReuters I/B/E/S.

** OASIS PETROLEUM INC, $47.62, +1.82 pct

The oil and gas producer, which operates in North Dakota'soil-rich Bakken shale field, posted a better-than-expectedfirst-quarter profit as production rose.

Analysts at Topeka Capital Markets raised their price targeton the stock to $56 from $52.

** SAGENT PHARMACEUTICALS INC, $21.69, +9.38 pct

The specialty pharmaceutical company reportedbetter-than-expected revenue for the first quarter, helped bystrong sales of products it launched in the previous year.

The company said it expects net revenue for fiscal 2014 inthe range of $250-$290 million, driven by 10 to 15 productlaunches.

** WELLCARE HEALTH PLANS INC,$67.7, +2.64 pct

The managed care services provider reportedbetter-than-expected results for the first quarter, helped bygrowth in its Medicaid health plans business and gains from itsacquisition of Medicare plans provider Windsor Health Group.

Wellcare also raised its 2014 forecast for adjusted netincome and premium revenue, saying that it expected growth inits Medicaid Health Plans and Medicare Prescription Drug Plansbusinesses.

** BILL BARRETT CORP, $26.19, +5.78 pct

Analysts at Mizuho Securities USA raised their rating on theoil and gas producer's stock to "buy" from "neutral", citinganticipated increases in production and lower costs for theremainder of the year.

The analysts also raised their price target on the stock to$29 from $27.

** QUICKSILVER RESOURCES INC, $2.785, -14.04 pct

The oil and gas producer reported a bigger-than-expectedloss for the first quarter.

Production volumes in the quarter fell to 22.1 billions ofcubic feet equivalent (bcfe) from 32.2 bcfe a year earlier.

** NN INC, $21.05, +8.84 pct

The company, which supplies high precision metal bearingcomponents and industrial plastic and rubber products, reporteda 9.3 percent jump in quarterly revenue, helped by increaseddemand for its products in China and Europe.

** HERTZ GLOBAL HOLDINGS INC, $28.33, -3.64 pct

The car rental company postponed its first-quarter resultsannouncement to an unspecified date. Hertz was originallyscheduled to report results on May 7.

** GREAT LAKES DREDGE & DOCK CORP, $7.805, -9.14pct

The company, which provides dredging services, reported abigger-than-expected loss as extreme winter weather in Januaryand February resulted in longer project durations and equipmentdowntime for maintenance.

Great Lakes also said its margins contracted due to minimaldredging activity in the Middle East.

** MOMENTA PHARMACEUTICALS INC, $10.44, -7.61 pct

The company said its operations could be affected by theU.S. Supreme Court's decision to review a federal circuit courtruling in favor of two teams of companies developing a genericversion of Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd's drug,Copaxone.

Momenta said it established an at-the-market equity facilityto sell up to $75 million of its common stock to fund its drugdevelopment programs during the time potential cash flow fromits generic version of Copaxone remained uncertain.

"The (Supreme Court) review mostly pushes out the timelineof a generic Copaxone launch," RF Lafferty & Co analyst DifeiYang said.

"Momenta can launch while the Supreme Court is reviewing thecase, that's called an at risk launch. In the case that Momentalost the Supreme court case, it might owe Teva treble damages."

** APPLIANCE RECYCLING CENTERS OF AMERICA INC,$3.72, +29.12 pct

The company, which provides turnkey appliance recycling andreplacement services for electric utilities, reported a 10percent jump in quarterly revenue, helped by increased recyclingdivision appliance replacement sales.

** TOWERS WATSON & CO, $103.72, -7.32 pct

The company, which provides human resources, risk andfinancial management services, forecast lower-than-expectedfull-year revenue of $3.45 billion due to a fall in projects inthe EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.

Analysts on average were expecting $3.50 billion, accordingto Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

The company reported revenue of $905 million for the quarterended March 31, lower than the average analyst estimate of$918.4 million.

** SP BANCORP INC, $28.6, +39.51 pct

Green Bancorp Inc said on Monday it would acquire SPBancorp, the holding company of SharePlus Bank, for $46.2million in cash, or $29.55 per share.

** BOFI HOLDING INC, $82.51, +2.80 pct

The bank holding company's third-quarter results beat WallStreet estimates as its net interest income rose about 36percent to $35.66 million from a year earlier.

** MINDRAY MEDICAL INTERNATIONAL LTD, $31.53, -6.36pct

The medical device maker on Monday reported first-quarterrevenue of $264.8 million, below analysts' average estimate of$292.50 million.

"The revenue miss was a function of still slowing growth inChina, while margins deteriorated 300 (basis points) on theheels of the 2-3 year investment cycle announced last quarter,"Jefferies analysts wrote in a note to clients.

** MURPHY USA INC, $43.76, -2.71 pct

The marketer of retail motor fuel products reportedfirst-quarter results that missed analysts' average estimate dueto lower retail fuel margins.

** LIVEDEAL INC, $4.61, +2.22 pct

The internet marketing company said it acquired DealTicker,an online platform which offers products and services at"substantial discounts" in the United States and Canada.

The deal, which is expected to add a significant percentageof growth in revenue for LiveDeal, "marks an expansion ofLiveDeal's successful restaurant deal engine into the retailindustry," the company said.

** CARMIKE CINEMAS INC, $33.14, +10.91 pct

The movie theater group reported better-than-expectedfirst-quarter revenue on Monday, helped by growth in audienceand per screen admission revenue.

At least three brokerages raised their price targets on thestock on Tuesday.

** DEX MEDIA INC, $9.48, +23.92 pct

The social and mobile marketing company reported a 58percent rise in quarterly revenue on Tuesday, helped by highersales of digital advertising, and the company said it paid down$74 million of bank debt.

** INTEGRATED DEVICE TECHNOLOGY INC, $12.35, +4.13pct

The chip-component maker reported better-than-expectedfourth-quarter results on Monday, helped by higher sales in itscommunications business as telecom carriers speed up roll out of4G LTE networks.

** RETAILMENOT INC, $30.25, -7.52 pct

The online coupon company reported lower-than-expectedfirst-quarter results on Monday as operating expenses rose 77percent.

** MTS SYSTEMS CORP, $64.06, -5.04 pct

The company, which makes testing systems for the auto andaviation industries, reported lower-than-expected second-quarterresults, hurt by a 3 percent decline in revenue from its largertest business.

** NATIONAL CINEMEDIA INC, $14.905, -2.52 pct

The company, which sells in-theater and onlineadvertisements in North America, reported a better-than-expectedquarterly profit on Monday.

Separately, the U.S.-based company said it agreed to buyrival Screenvision in a $375 million cash-and-stock deal toexpand its video advertising network to about 3,900 theatersacross 50 states.

** RESOLUTE FOREST PRODUCTS INC, $15.75, -1.19 pct

The newsprint producer said on Tuesday it wouldpermanently close its previously idled pulp and paper mill inFort Frances in Ontario. The kraft pulp mill has been idledsince November 2012.

** QUANTUM FUEL SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGIES WORLDWIDE INC,$3.44, -45.57 pct

The clean propulsion systems maker's largest customer,Agility Fuel Systems, said it was setting up a joint venturewith Quantum's competitor, Hexagon Lincoln, to build cylinders.An Agility spokesman confirmed that this would transfer some ofits business with Quantum to the joint venture, Agility HexagonLLC.
