Barclays have appointed to corporate bankers from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to aid its expansion in Dubai, according to private sources.Sahibzada Masroor Ali and Joaquin Eliason were both hired, Bloomberg has reported.Ali was previously the head of network client coverage for the Middle East and Africa while Eliason was recently in charge of corporate overage network banking at RBS Markets and International Banking, according to their LinkedIn pages.In a Dubai interview published 26 May, Rezwan Mirza, the head of business in the United Arab Emirates and Gulf countries, revealed that Barclays will aim to boost its number of corporate bankers in the Gulf by more than 10% this year.Mirza will oversee the two new hires as the company endeavours to expand its customer coverage throughout the Middle East.
